This smells absolutely delicious as it bakes in the oven and is hands down one of the best potato dishes I have cooked. The thin scallops of potato are always are favourite cut, and the cider is so warming for a winter's side dish.

Just back from a short trip to NYC! Amazing city!
In celebration of America, this recipe is based from a wonderful cookbook The Silver Plate, also inspired by friend Kirsty who planned to make it this week for a special dinner party.
This is one of my favourite recipes, is easy and can be doubled and tripled to feed the masses and the melding of flavours here are mouth watering.
