It is berry and cherry season, and this one can be prepped in advance, the berries sitting in the dishes, the batter made ready to pour over and bake last minute.

I love seeing beautiful tarts on a communal table, and especially in the lovely rectangular tart tin - You can sub the short crust for puff, and change the fillings around as you like, pouring the custard base around - I made a simple one with kale spinach and feta the other day which worked perfectly.

Muesli Bars!

I substituted the fruit with our latest favourites - dried pineapple blueberries crasisins, plus substituted some of the seeds for quinoa, swapped part of the brown sugar for a dark molasses one, and the golden syrup with some manuka honey - this recipe is too easy and works with any blend.

My one year old just loves muesli bars so it was time to make my own batch and save some money!
